■ NOTE: The filter is very easy and intuitive to assemble. Although all components are sterilized before shipping, it is recommended to rinse all parts in fresh running water before assembly. It is also important to remember that the FILTER CARTRIDGES, FLOATS AND TAP are screwed on with common sense, that they are not wobbly, but not excessively tight with the risk of breaking or damaging them. When assembling the accessories, make sure that the rubber joints (gaskets) are placed correctly on both sides of the filter wall to prevent infiltrations.
■ CAUTION: After rinsing and assembling, choose a good location (safe and accessible) to permanently store it, avoiding exposure to sunlight or nearby heat sources. To fill the upper tank with fresh tap water, use a properly clean container (large bowl, pot, jug, etc.). It is recommended to always leave it full. Please note that the water filtration system is gravity-fed, or "drop by drop," and it may take several minutes (30 to 60 minutes) to completely fill the lower tank. ■ MAINTENANCE:
• Every 2 months, wash the entire filter under running water, as well as the 3 ceramic cartridges (which should simply be gently rinsed with clean hands under the tap to remove excess residue). It is completely normal for the filter cartridges to darken with use. Please note that the cartridges' useful life (depending on water quality) varies from 5 to 6 months.
• To clean the ceramic tanks, simply wash and rinse them thoroughly under running water, simply rubbing them with your hands or a soft brush to remove accumulated residue (be very careful not to drop or knock them against other surfaces).
■ NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the cartridges from the filter body to clean them. Choose a suitable location for maintenance (such as a spacious, clean sink), use only fresh, abundant tap water, and absolutely do not use soap or any other cleaning products. Gently dry the external parts of the filter with a clean, soft cloth after reassembling it (it is not necessary to dry the cartridges or other internal parts).
■ NOTE: Filter cartridges are generally changed (both at the same time) every 6 months. We recommend using only original products for replacements. When replacing ceramic filter cartridges, double-fill the upper tank, discarding the first 16 liters of filtered water from the lower tank (this purification procedure will be performed each time the cartridges are replaced with new ones).
■ ATTENTION: The main function of the SÃO JOÃO PREMIUM 8L filter is to further improve the quality of tap water for safe drinking and cooking. It is an economical and eco-sustainable solution, avoiding the constant purchase of bottled water, which in addition to being economically unfavorable, represents one of the major problems for the environment.
